Reduce Risk of Heart Diseases | 11 Effective Ways | Dr. Jack Wolfson


Hey, it’s Dr. Jack Wolfson, The Paleo Cardiologist,
and I want to talk to you about 11 ways to
lower your risk of heart disease.
You are not doomed to get heart disease.
You are not genetically programmed to get
heart disease.
There are 300 million people in this country
and hundreds of millions have high blood pressure,
high cholesterol, heart disease, blockages,
atrial fibrillation.
You name it.
Everyone’s got something.
We are not genetically programmed to get that
something.
When I was going through my medical training
in the 1990s, it was all thought that the
holy grail was going to be genetics.
It’s not.
Let’s talk about 11 ways you can prevent
heart disease immediately.
Number one, organic Paleo foods.
What’s Paleo?
It’s pretty simple.
Eat tons of vegetables.
Eat plenty of seafood, wild, and eat free
range, grass-fed meats.
Eat eggs and avocados and coconuts and olives
and once again lots of high quality organic
veggies is the foundation.
It is plant based but everybody should be
eating certainly some seafood, and preferably
some free range, grass fed meats, including
the organs.
Use lots of spices.
Number two on this regimen is going to be
avoiding toxins,
which kind of ties in with going organic Paleo.
When you are avoiding toxins, you are avoiding
pesticides.
Laundry detergent.
Fabric softener.
Dryer sheets.
Glade plug-ins.
Perfumes.
Colognes.
All these artificial smells.
Get rid of them.
Get them out of your life.
If you need to, get an air purification system
to pull all those toxins out of your environment
like from carpeting for example.
Love to have tell people to pull out the carpeting
and put in wood floor.
Some kind of floor without a toxic glue.
Next, we want to tell people to get active.
I try to avoid the term exercise, although
it comes out pretty easy.
But get active.
Get outside.
Run.
Bike.
Jog.
Go for a hike.
Just go for a simple walk in the morning.
Walk in the evening.
Go start a garden.
Do yoga.
Be physically active, that’s absolutely
important.

Number four way to reduce heart disease risk
– get chiropractic care.

Now number five, high quality water.
Hydration.

Number six is getting sleep.
Our ancestors went to sleep with the sun down,
awoke with the sunrise.
Sleep is very, very important.

It makes the fats and it makes all the different
nutrients that we need to get the job done.
Sleep with the sundown.
Awake with the sunrise.
Next, number seven.
Supplements.
Evidence-based supplements.
Huge fan of evidence-based supplements.
Why?
Cause they’re evidence-based and they work.
I see it with my patients.
I see it with myself.
You’ll see it in you.
Probiotics.
Daily Greens.
Multivitamin.
Omega 3s.
Digestive enzymes.
You name it.
There’s so many things you need for your
health
and that will lead to tremendous heart health.
For blood pressure.
Organic beetroot powder.
Nothing like it.
Next thing is sunshine.
Let the power of the sun come into your body
to recharge everything.
Our ancestors were in and out of the sun all
day long and they were naked.
It’s not just about vitamin D, although
vitamin D levels are very important.
But you don’t get that from a pill bottle.
You get it from the sun.
Nitric oxide comes from the sun.
Melatonin is produced when we get sunshine
and then melatonin cranks up so then we go to sleep.
And melatonin does so many different things
in the body.
Such a master hormone that it is.
All of our hormones.
Testosterone.
Estrogen.
They’re all predicated.
Insulin function.
Predicated on sunshine so make sure you get
it.
Number nine.
This is obvious.
Don’t smoke.
Everybody knows that.
But, when it comes to second-hand smoke, it’s
poison.
When it comes to alcohol – two to three
drinks per week maximum.
Try to make it organic alcohol.
And then of course staying away from illicit
drugs and one of those illicit drugs is pharmaceuticals.
So, when you can avoid pharmaceuticals, avoid
them.
Pharmaceuticals are not for prevention.
I’m talking about prevention.
Pharmaceuticals are a false promise.
A false premise.
If you are in an emergency, take a pharmaceutical
from an emergency room when in pain or if
you are dying from infection, take an antibiotic.
Otherwise, everybody else do the things on
this list and heal these infections naturally.
Viruses are the most common cause of people’s
illnesses so you don’t need antibiotics.
Number ten.
Get grounded.
Walk, stand barefoot, whenever possible.
Get in the grass, get on that beach.
Walk.
Stand barefoot.
Let the energy from the earth, let the electrons
from the earth flow up into your body and
do amazing things.
Last but not least.
Number eleven is stress.
Avoid stress.
Stress kills.
Stress is poison.
Stress.
Anger.
Anxiety.

Stress is something we never talked about
in medical school, residency, fellowship,
yet it is so so problematic for people where
it leads to heart disease, high blood pressure,
atrial fibrillation, heart attacks, you name
it.
Get the stress out of your life immediately.
So, those were 11 things to reduce your risk
of cardiovascular disease.
You can do it!
None of those things on that list was pharmaceuticals.
You don’t need pharmaceuticals.
You need to follow the items on the list and
you can recover your heart health, you can
prevent heart disease.
You can do anything when you live by Mother
Nature.
