Assalam Alaikum My name is Zia Tabarak and right now I am in Sahiwal Sahiwal is a historical city from the times of Harappa and it is famous for its cattle… and its agriculture the ‘makhay kay paye’ here are very famous it is early morning and we have to eat breakfast and people told us to go there, so now we’ll go to makhay kay paye for breakfast and then we’ll go to Decent Bakery’s farmhouse their products are very famous here and their cattle is famous all over Pakistan Sahiwal’s cattle is known throughout the world and is one of a kind so we’ll go to the farmhouse where the cattle is raised. Then at night… …we’ll go to the ‘Bulbul Restaurant’ whose mutton karahi is very famous here we’ll try it as well, right now let’s go to ‘Maakhay kay Paye’ and have breakfast then we’ll look around the Sahiwal city, LET’S GO! It’s early morning in Punjab and if we don’t have Paye then it won’t be the same so we’re going to have ‘Makhay kay Paye’ ‘Makha’s Hotel’ It’s very crowded here! How are you brother? everything good? How are you doing? So, your paye are very famous here? we were told to have your paye, especially! When do you start it in the morning? 6 am. The shop is almost 22-23 years old Makhay kay Paye is very old.. and people come here since a long time it’s just 8 am and you can see the crowd already people come from other areas as well What’s the secret in your Paye? it’s God’s grace and my father’s hard work! alright so now we’re gonna taste your paye! Here we have our paye Paye with ‘Nalli’ and Anda Channa Just look at the bread’s texture! it’s very nice! let’s start with the naan first I’ll try the anda channa ﷽ it’s 8 degrees celsius here and yet the anda channa and.. this hot naan, paye have made everything warm the channa tastes delicious let’s taste the paye oh wow the bone marrow in the paye…. looks delicious! here we have the paye and a little bone marrow Sahiwal’s famous Makhay kay Paye! the paye are extremely appetizing the real taste of the paye is in the oil which along with the meat makes a delicious curry which I can feel here the Paye curry is extremely tasty and even without the meat… the Paye should taste delicious and that is something I found here that you can simply eat the curry with the naan and enjoy! Paye from Punjab are already very famous and today we even tried Sahiwal’s paye feels great! ‘Makhay kay Paye’ very nice! so we tried Makhay kay Paye which were delicious and now we’ll go to Decent Bakery Assalam Alaikum Mr. Hamza, how are you? Tell us something about Decent Bakery it’s so famous, when did it start? it’s since 1969 my grandfather started it oh nice Our dairy products all come from our farm Oh I see, so.. do you guys have your own cattle farm? We’ll show you everything InshAllah Oh wow, nice Come on I’ll show you around So here Hamza Bhai has put together a small sample of everything they have, for us this is rasmalai thi is sweet puff, and this is carrot halwa and the ‘khoya’ on the halwa looks great here is a variety of biscuits this is the honey biscuit where you can see the honey like cream in other biscuits almond naankhatai here so first let’s taste rasmalai rasmalai is my favorite and this made from pure milk which is a bonus for me Which branch is the one we’re in right now? High street main branch So we are in the high street main branch and here is their tin packing which good for gifts especially to send out of Sahiwal, anywhere in Pakistan so now, the rasmalai! Wow wow wow! such a cold soft and sweet treat there are little almonds and cardamom in the rasmalai if I hadnt had the paye I would have eaten 5 platefuls of this! Excellent! Alright so here we have the biscuits they look delicious, these are new types of biscuits to me the naankhatai looks different too.. here’s the almond one the naankhatai is great! But the one thing that I have my eyes on is the Carrot Halwa (Gajar ka Halwa) the khoya here has a satisfying texture it even looks made from pure milk great This is their especiality that all of their dairy products come from their cattle farm and that’s what we’re going to see and this halwa is amazing! alright so now we’ll go to their dairy farm and when I came to their car I saw that he’s given it a full sports car look you look enthusiastic about cars to me! yes absolutely! Now we’re moving towards the farm yes, here’s the farm it’s a nice village atmosphere So we have finally entered the farm it’s a pleasant environment with cold breeze birds are chirping…nice! these are calves So have you guys kept them in sections? Yes we have, all the ones here are pregnant ones oh breeding! Here we see buffaloes What is this? Pure Sahiwal Breed Oh yes, the red ones are known as Sahiwal breed MashaAllah These are all bulls right? Yes, and they are not adults as in they are still calves these are just calves and yet look at their size! these are also calves? they are all calves they’ll be adults next year this one looks angry to me This is an australian bull coming towards us These are all bulls but a different breed Assalam Alaikum How are you? Do you come to Karachi to sell them? Yes. How are you? The cattle feed is being made here so some of them will go to the Eid cattle market this year Just look at the size of the animals here! should I pet it? Why so afraid, huh? So what do you feed them? Grains, pulses, chickpeas we make them eat it all this breed is found in the Cholistan desert, sahiwal and surrounding areas Hamza bhai what is the value of these animals? This ones around 2500000 Rs and the one behind it? that one’s around 2200000 Rs. Even the way that these animals walk shows you how valuable they are It’s a huge bull! Here we have some sitting place and they tie up some animals here as well We have a brick oven which has been fired up and corn is being cooked The milk comes to our shops in the morning and after evening we give the milk to our animals Now they’ll feed the bulls with milk How will you do it? You can see it there… OH I SEE! Oh wow! Can’t the bulls drink it just like water? No not unless they are made to drink it that way since their birth here we can see them feeding the bulls the milk is being fed just like we give feeders to babies the same way the bulls are being given milk here in such a great village environment with fresh milk and hot roasted corn life feels good! Here we have more calves When the animals live in such a healthy environment and are being taken care of by you guys then they have to raise up as healthy and huge cattle! Is it a milking cow? So now we’ll milk a cow Cows are either milked early in the morning or in the evening But here they have prepared a cow for us so we could experience milking and have pure milk The calves are fed all of the milk? So how long does a calf feed on the milk? As long as it does not leave itself! that’s how they get strong so since the calf had been feeding the udder is being washed right now so that they get cleaned then we’ll get to milk them fresh milk is being extracted here I feel like milking is quite a workout Two of the glands will be milked and the other two will be left because the calf will feed on the other two glands just look at the foam here the whole bucket is filled wow! The fresh cow milk is right here infront of us thank you so much! I have never had any milk more fresh! This is great! So this was Sahiwal’s famous Decent Bakery’s farmhouse, we enjoyed a lot and saw the famous cattle from Sahiwal It is afternoon now, we’ll go and rest a bit then at night, we’ll go to ‘Bulbul Restaurant’ and try their famous Mutton Karahi and show you as well! So here we are at Sahiwal’s Bulbul Restaurant Khurram Bhai told us that their Karahi is the best So we thought of ending this video at Bulbul Restaurant Its here since 1914 1914??! Yes, long before Pakistan’s creation Has the karahi been here since then? No, first it was a small scale restaurant they used to have some sabzi and daal etc. and then my father expanded and introduced Karahi We have Karahi, Daal, Biryani and bbq What kinds of Karahi do you have? We have mutton karahi, makhni karahi Chicken Karahi, even Makhni Chicken Karahi You’ll have a great time here We can see these huge bricks of butter in the karahi!! It looks really appetizing What kinds of spices do you put in here? Black Pepper and Green Chilli are used the most and most people like it in butter Our Karahi is finally ready! Our karahi is here and looks delicious we had it made in butter, ﷽ Let’s start before it gets cold! It’s really hot and streaming. The mutton looks like it’s really tender Here is Bulbul Restaurant’s Mutton Karahi Really scrumptious, the butter’s texture is really in there the meat is also extremely tender and along with the butter, the tenderness of the meat makes it almost like butter! This is really delicious! We can say that You will not find a Karahi like this anywhere in Pakistan Butt Karahi, it is also made with butter and is made in a pan just like this to me, the taste here is very similar to it, which is also very famous all over Pakistan and, if you are in Sahiwal, then you dont have.. to go anywhere else but here, for Karahi! Amazing! So our day was extremely busy, we had Paye then we saw the amazing cattle at the farmhouse And the, at last, this Karahi at Bulbul Restaurant made everything better!
